We are currently working on a project to modify the loading/unloading equipment. As required by the safety supervision agency, the overhead loading arm has been replaced with a bottom-mounted one. However, the client believes that the overhead loading arm functions similarly to the unloading arm, and therefore requests that a common loading/unloading arm be designed. I’m not sure if this is feasible Is there anyone from a flexible hose manufacturing company among my friends who can help explain whether this approach works?
Loading and unloading flexible hoses should not be shared. Under the same operating conditions, the overhead flexible hose can be used as a unloading hose, but it cannot be used for both loading and unloading.
There is essentially no difference between a lowering hose and an installing hose; the connection point with the tank truck is the same as well. Personally, I think the upper loading arm has poor sealing properties, which can lead to vaporization and leakage of the medium, while the lower loading arm has better sealing performance and thus a higher safety factor!
There is no difference between unloading and installing the pigtail!
Liquid ammonia is unloaded using a lower-mounted dip pipe.
