After the company sent personnel to shut down the boiler for maintenance, an explosion occurred during the ignition process, which in turn led to a fire involving the heat transfer oil; the area affected by the fire was approximately 200 square meters. The poisoning and asphyxiation accident at Anhui Fuyang Haoyuan Chemical Group Co., Ltd. on May 11: At around 11 a.m. on May 11, 2022, an accident involving poisoning and asphyxiation occurred in the gas processing section of the ammonia synthesis plant at Anhui Haoyuan Chemical Group Co., Ltd., located in Yingdong District of Fuyang City, while maintenance work was being carried out on a slag hopper; this resulted in the death of 3 people, including 2 workers and 1 rescue worker. Preliminary investigations suggest that the relevant personnel failed to implement effective forced ventilation during the hazardous operations, nor did they put in place measures for real-time monitoring.
