Recently, the energy-saving renovation project for the low-temperature heat utilization of the ethylene plant at Guangzhou Petrochemical was officially put into operation. Estimates show that it is expected to save nearly 20,000 tons of low-pressure steam per year, resulting in significant energy savings. Implementing energy-saving renovations using low-temperature heat utilization is an important measure taken by Guangzhou Petrochemical to reduce energy consumption in its ethylene production facilities. The project was launched in November last year. The technical team overcame challenges such as a large scope of work, a long construction period, and the need to carry out construction while production continued, and achieved high-standard completion in April this year. After completing the pressure testing and inspection of the pressure vessels and pipelines to obtain the necessary certifications, it entered the trial operation phase at the end of May. During the trial operation period, the technical team made continuous optimizations based on the operational conditions to ensure reliability of operations, recovering over 4 million kilojoules of low-temperature waste heat per hour. Next, Guangzhou Petrochemical will continue to explore and recover low-temperature heat sources, promote the hierarchical utilization of energy, and thereby help improve the cost efficiency of the ethylene production facility.
