As of June 15, Jiujiang Petrochemical successfully handled and made efficient use of the contaminated oil accumulated during plant maintenance, converting it into high-quality raw materials for production. This approach achieved a win-win situation in terms of environmental and economic benefits, establishing a green circular chain that goes from \"maintenance\" to \"recycling\" and then to \"reuse\". The oil spill that was successfully handled this time mainly consisted of a mixture of fuels such as diesel, gasoline, and kerosene generated during the maintenance of the company’s facilities. To collect used oil in an environmentally friendly manner, the company has made careful arrangements by installing specialized sealed connections at the main loading stations and pipeline discharge points. Three sealed transfer pipelines are used to convey the used oil to large dedicated storage tanks for centralized collection and storage. Storage and transportation personnel use methods such as static settling and moderate heating to deeply dehydrate the contaminated oil and remove impurities, thereby stabilizing its composition. To address the issue of oil and gas vaporization, measures such as reducing emissions at the source of the process, installing negative-pressure gas collection hoods and high-flow vacuum units, and employing a two-stage purification process were taken, thereby achieving closed-loop control over oil and gas throughout the entire process. The Storage and Transportation Operations Department transports it precisely to the company’s two atmospheric and vacuum distillation units via specialized pumps and pipeline systems for use in blending processes. At present, the treated waste oil that meets the standards has been transformed into qualified raw materials for production.
