Since the beginning of 2025, Nanhua Company has explored the use of new production processes in the manufacture of the rubber antioxidant TMQ; from January to April, the consumption levels of raw materials such as acid and alkali vapors decreased by 30% on a year-on-year basis. It is estimated that the annual cost savings can exceed 4 million yuan. At the beginning of this year, the R&D team at Nanhua Company successfully developed a new high-temperature enhanced reaction process to address the issue of resource waste in the polycondensation step of the rubber antioxidant TMQ. This process has achieved significant results once it was applied to the company’s TMQ production facilities. By increasing the reaction temperature in the polycondensation reactor, this process enables a significant improvement in the reaction efficiency of the materials, while ensuring compliance with the key quality parameters of the product. It reduces the consumption of raw materials such as acids, bases, and steam, and minimizes the generation of high-salt wastewater during the production of the rubber antioxidant TMQ. This approach provides a solution to the challenges associated with managing waste in the production of rubber antioxidants.
