Hello everyone, pipelines for VOC treatment are connected to the top of atmospheric pressure storage tanks; it is good to install a vent valve along with a flame arrester, or a flame arrester together with a control valve. Someone with experience, please help analyze it.
From an economic perspective, choose a breathing valve and a flame arrester. To analyze it in more detail, factors such as tank parameters, properties of the medium, and the current situation must be taken into account. It is also necessary to determine whether the VOC treatment system is used in a comprehensive manner or solely for tanks storing similar types of media. Additionally, consideration should be given to whether pressure can be displayed locally or remotely (generally, pressure displays are not available for tanks at atmospheric pressure). In my opinion, it is better to use a flame arrester combined with a control valve, as the control valve monitors the pressure in the valve or tank and adjusts its opening based on that pressure, thus avoiding the issue of negative pressure. However, a breathing valve works differently; its opening is determined by relative pressure, and if the fan at the end is turned on, it may create negative pressure in the preceding section, which in turn causes the breathing valve to open
The single-check valve + flame arrester + isolation valve configuration is preferable, as it can basically address the issues mentioned by the previous speakers

There should be two separate exits; for the normal exit leading to the VOC treatment pipeline, a control valve and a flame arrester are used, as it is necessary to prevent backflow in the exhaust pipeline. When the control valve fails, a vent valve takes over its function. Such vent valves are usually designed as flame-arresting vent valves, again to prevent backflow.
