Yangzi Petrochemical Deploys First Fixed-Infrared Spectroscopy Imaging System 2025-08-11 18:16· Recently, Sinopec’s Yangzi Petrochemical successfully installed the first fixed-infrared spectroscopy imaging system on the roof platform of its ethylene complex, enabling comprehensive, 24/7, intelligent monitoring of the operational conditions in that area. This imager uses a cryogenic cooled detector to predict potential risks through real-time thermal imaging analysis, and it incorporates functions such as online automatic monitoring of hazardous gas leaks and high-definition dual-spectrum real-time surveillance. Its thermal noise is significantly reduced, effectively improving the capabilities for anomaly detection, accident early warning, and emergency response. Furthermore, the imager frame is made of high-strength galvanized steel, meeting safety requirements such as multi-point fixation as well as corrosion and heat resistance, enabling long-term stable operation under extreme conditions. “In the past, when using traditional handheld infrared detectors for inspections, it was difficult to identify defects in environments with high temperatures and complex stray light; now, with more detailed imaging and easier operation, the quality of inspections has improved. ”Xue Shihan, a technician at the company’s ethylene complex, explained.
