According to Sinochem New Network, recently, the hydrogen energy training facility of the Zhejiang Provincial Fire and Rescue Corps was inaugurated in the Zhaopu Economic Development Zone (Jiaxing Port Area) in Zhejiang. Wu Weijie, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Director of the Management Committee of Jiaxing Port Area, noted that the establishment of this base represents a crucial step in Jiaxing Port Area’s efforts to develop an \"Eastern Hydrogen Port\" and to strengthen the security framework for the hydrogen industry. It is also a practical example of close integration between fire protection forces and emerging industries, as well as of joint efforts to promote development. As Zhejiang Province’s only pilot zone for hydrogen-based future industries, Jiaxing Port Area focuses on the entire hydrogen industry chain, covering production, storage, transportation, refueling, and utilization. The Jiaxing Port Area Management Committee will, as always, support the development of this base, encourage more hydrogen energy companies to contribute to the creation of training facilities, and ensure that the base progresses in step with the development of the industry ; Make every effort to meet the operational needs of the base, providing the best services for the training of fire and rescue personnel as well as for expert research activities ; And by using the base as a link, they will work together to explore new approaches and methods for the safe emergency handling of hydrogen energy, so that \"safety\" becomes the most prominent feature and the strongest foundation for the hydrogen energy industry in this port area. At the unveiling ceremony, the Jiaxing Fire and Rescue Brigade signed a cooperation agreement with the Yangtze River Delta Hydrogen Safety Research Center to jointly establish a hydrogen energy training base. Under the agreement, the two parties will leverage the resources of the entire hydrogen industry chain in Jiaxing Port Area to transform applications such as hydrogen production facilities, storage and transportation sites, and hydrogen refueling stations operated by hydrogen-related enterprises into \"real-world training venues.\" This will enable fire and rescue personnel to acquire theoretical knowledge regarding the physical and chemical properties of hydrogen as well as risk identification within the industry chain, while also practicing practical skills such as fire fighting and leak handling in real scenarios, thereby further enhancing the professionalism of fire and rescue teams in dealing with hydrogen-related accidents. It is understood that in recent years, relying on its advantage of industrial by-product hydrogen with an annual production capacity of nearly 100,000 tons, Jiaxing Port Area has attracted 28 hydrogen energy enterprises. It has built the largest hydrogen refueling station in the Yangtze River Delta region, and more than half of the hydrogen-powered vehicles in use across the country are equipped with hydrogen propulsion systems developed in this port area.
