Accident warning: At around 22:25 on December 31, 2025, a serious asphyxiation accident occurred at Longlai Biopharmaceutical Co., Ltd. in Jinxian County, Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province, resulting in 3 deaths and 3 injuries. The preliminary investigation into the cause of the accident indicates that the centrifuge room and drying room in the affected facility operated using a closed-system production method; air was generated centrally by air compressors, delivered to various workshops through pipelines, and then routed via hoses to the full-face self-priming respirators worn by the employees. At around 22:20 on December 31, the air compressor stopped working due to a malfunction, causing a loss of pressure in the system. This led to insufficient supply of air to the self-contained breathing apparatuses worn by the operators in the centrifuge room and drying room, resulting in asphyxiation incidents. All regions should thoroughly learn from the lessons of these accidents and apply those lessons to similar situations. For chemical and pharmaceutical enterprises that use identical air compressors and supplied-air respirators, a detailed inventory of such equipment must be kept. These enterprises should be urged to conduct thorough inspections and rectifications of potential risks, and to strengthen the inspection, maintenance, and upkeep of key pumps, equipment, pipelines, safety accessories, and other related facilities. Any issues identified must be resolved promptly, and it is strictly prohibited for such equipment to operate in a faulty condition ； In accordance with standards such as GB30871, strict management of safety in special operations in confined spaces is implemented, with enhanced efforts to assess and handle abnormal operating conditions in order to prevent accidents.
