Let’s analyze what could be the reason. It involves Nasim’s outlet pressure curve, the liquid level curve of the clean tower, and Nasim’s gas-water hydrocyclone curve. This situation keeps occurring from time to time. The older generation refers to it as liquid separation, but I would like to know the exact cause. Thank you, everyone; please help analyze this.
In my understanding, there is too much water accumulated in the main pipe, which causes pressure buildup at the outlet; as a result, the pressure increases suddenly, pushing the water in the pipe into the cleaning tower. Excessive water accumulation is due to poor separation performance by the Nasim unit; to solve this problem, should a new separator be installed? ?
It’s not due to the gas-water separator; it’s best to check whether there is any flow deviation or liquid separation in the purification tower located behind the compressor
This phenomenon has occurred during liquid removal, causing the tower liquid level to increase linearly. There was also a deviation in the flow, and there was a lot of water accumulated in the outlet pipe; it took us 2 hours to drain it all. I wonder why there’s so much water – is it the soda separator, and is its separation efficiency poor? Does it not work? Our Nasim also has an abnormal water-changing curve; two units have water added to them, while one requires its water to be changed every 8 hours.
It is mainly due to the deviation in flow at the purification tower, which causes excessive water accumulation in the acetylene pipeline; as a result, water from the compressor is carried out with it.

What is the cause of this phenomenon? In my opinion, water accumulation in the export pipeline is a factor that leads to liquid separation. The cause of this water accumulation is the moisture contained in the acetylene gas. As can be seen from Figure 3, the curve of the vapor-liquid separator shows abnormal behavior; normally, water should remain behind as the gas passes through, but this curve indicates that the water level is significantly too low, so water is added automatically via the water addition valve. How do we understand where the water goes then? Also, the liquid removal from the purification tower in winter is relatively routine. Recent curve analysis shows that the height of liquid removal increases by about 15 centimeters each time. Is the solution to install a drain valve on the outlet pipeline? In our industry, when the plant was put into operation, no drain valve was installed at the outlet; instead, one was installed on the inlet pipeline.
