Can acetylene sulfate cleaning be carried out without using an alkali scrubber? Please share your insights – what considerations are necessary once the alkali scrubber is removed from the system?

No, why would we want to cancel it? We use sodium hypochlorite for cleaning.
The alkali scrubber must be used; we use sulfuric acid for drying
A caustic scrubber is installed before the sulfuric acid cleaning tower; it’s not possible to add another caustic scrubber after that, as concentrated sulfuric acid is already used to remove sulfur, phosphorus, and moisture.
An article in “Polyvinyl Chloride” mentions that adding alkali to the scrubber helps reduce sulfuric acid consumption, but we have never added alkali solution.
Our process involves an acetylene cooling tower first, followed by a sulfuric acid cleaning tower and then an alkali washing tower. Isn’t it unreasonable to place the alkali washing tower at the end? Should it not be moved before or after the cooling tower?
