An open-loop system is being used; the temperature drop is quite good in winter. However, the cooling tower performs poorly in summer – the inlet water temperature is 36 degrees, while the outlet water temperature is around 32 degrees. Does anyone have any suggestions? It is said that fillless systems offer better temperature drop effects. Are there any experienced people who can share their insights?
First, it is necessary to check whether the cooling tower is operating beyond its designed capacity. If improvements are indeed desired, options such as adding more fan blades, replacing the packing, or using different nozzles can be considered. The goal is to increase the air-water ratio, expand the contact area, and prolong the contact time~~

1. Modifying the equipment (increasing the steam-to-water ratio and the surface area of the packing) is time-consuming, costly, and troublesome. 2. There’s no need for any modifications; simply buy ice cubes and add them to the cooling tower. Quick, it works.
The effect is satisfactory; a spray tower increases the vapor-liquid ratio, but it requires good water quality, otherwise the nozzles are prone to clogging. However, its cooling effect is better than that of ordinary packed towers
It’s fine if it drops to 32 degrees in summer; if the water temperature entering the tower rises to 38, the temperature of the water coming out of the tower might still be 32, and this is related to atmospheric humidity
The local atmospheric wet-bulb temperature determines the outlet temperature of the circulating water.
What is an appropriate pH value for general circulating water?
