What causes the temperature at the top of the pre-tower to be higher than the temperature of the feed plate?

Since I started working with methanol, I have worked at several plants, and without exception, the temperature at the top of the pre-treatment tower is always slightly higher than the temperature at the feed plate. In both the pressurized tower and the atmospheric tower, the temperature at the top of the tower is the lowest, while the temperature at the bottom of the tower is the highest; the temperature at the feed plate lies in between. I would like to hear everyone’s explanations for these temperature patterns I ask everyone to speak freely and offer their advice.

In our plant, the temperature at the top of the pre-tower is 73.5°C, at the bottom of the tower it is 80°C, and the temperature on the feed plate is only 69.5°C. Why is the temperature in the middle the lowest? In other plants I’ve seen, it’s usually the bottom of the tower that has the lowest temperature

Our pre-towers are all packed with trays, without packing.
