Do LNG receiving stations, high-pressure flares, and low-pressure flares share the same flare tower? Do they need to be separated?
No, the low-pressure and high-pressure combustion tubes are arranged separately; combustion takes place wherever there is gas
It’s not necessary; they are placed on a torch tower, arranged separately. However, high-pressure torch pipelines usually come equipped with silencers as required by environmental noise regulations.
The high-pressure and low-pressure torches share the same tower
For the high-pressure section, it is said that venting should be done directly at the high points; however, I do not recommend venting everything together. It is better to use the liquid separation tank in the flare pipeline system for separate venting, so as to avoid any mutual influence. Additionally, according to the receiving station and related documents, the low- and medium-pressure flares are connected to the BOG main pipe; these flares are sealed with nitrogen fluid. The BOG main pipe is connected to the compressor, and backflow can occur in these flares – it’s unclear how this was taken into account in the original design.
What the original poster means is the same torch, not the same pipe. Generally, it won’t be the same pipeline; since the backpressure conditions vary, the selection of safety valves also differs
