Hello, experts! The current fan has an air handling capacity of 60,000 m3/h, an air pressure of 1400 Pa, and it handles 4 tons of water vapor per hour; the exhaust temperature is 80 degrees. Fog formation is severe in winter. It is planned to use a scrubber with a diameter of 3 meters and a height of 9 meters to eliminate this fog. There are two spray nozzles inside the scrubber, with Ball ring packing at a thickness of 0.5 meters per layer and a diameter of 50 mm. There is also mist removal packing at the top outlet with a thickness of 5 cm. The feed water temperature is 20 degrees, and the flow rate is 60 tons per hour. What will be the exhaust temperature? The heat transfer amount is clearly insufficient, making it difficult to achieve the desired effect. The pressure drop is approximately between 200 and 500 Pa; however, since the diameter of the inlet pipe is not specified, it is impossible to calculate the pressure inside the tower, and it is unclear whether this pressure meets the required standards.
If cooling alone is used to achieve whitening, the temperature should be kept below 40°C in winter and below 45°C in summer. Considering that the temperature is generally 3–5°C higher than the water temperature after cooling, and assuming a difference of 3°C, the return water temperature can only be set at 37°C (in winter). The temperature increase from inlet to outlet water is 17°C (inlet temperature: 20°C, outlet temperature: 17°C), requiring a cooling water volume of 150 m3/h. Thank you! It makes sense; if we use the formula 4000*570/60000, we get 38 degrees. This figure doesn’t even take into account the enthalpy of the air, so it might not be possible to achieve this. The amount of water used can be increased; I plan to use an inlet pipe with a diameter of 125, and the air inlet pipe will have a diameter of φ=1.3m. If the pressure in the scrubber is only 200–500 Pa, that’s good. I’m considering using three layers of packing: two layers of 50 cm each, with another 50 cm of packing above the demister, to avoid excessive pressure losses.
Thank you. After the temperature drops, it is 3-5 degrees higher than the water temperature. Does the temperature mentioned here refer to the intake air temperature or the exhaust gas temperature? If it’s the exhaust temperature, is the water temperature too low? Inlet temperature is 80 degrees, outlet temperature is 37 degrees.

It can also be understood as the exhaust temperature; however, I think 80 degrees for the intake temperature, 40 degrees for the exhaust temperature, and 37 degrees for the water temperature is a bit too low! Actual experience is unmatched
Without considering spraying, the pressure drop when the gas reaches the demisting packing decreases by 200 Pa; if the amount of water sprayed is high, the pressure drop loss increases further. With the filler pressure applied, it should still be possible to meet the requirements.
The packing is 75 Haier rings, in two layers at 60 cm each; the tower has a diameter of 3 m, and the pressure loss is only 200 Pa?
