For the measurement of the liquid level at the bottom of a atmospheric pressure tower, a single-flange level transmitter is used. Is it necessary to use a protective enclosure for it? I work in the fields of metallurgy and coal chemical engineering; previously, in such situations, no protective box was used. Thank you

The level of explosion protection varies depending on the area in which they are used. If an instrument meets the IP65 standard, then there is no need for an additional insulation enclosure
