The weather is bad; it’s snowing and freezing outside. What emergency measures should be taken if the level gauges of the air-cooled or water-cooled towers fail?
It is recommended that using a heat tracing insulation layer in combination will yield a better heat tracing effect. Additionally, the pressure gauge tubes on the air-cooled tower also need to be thermally insulated to prevent a drop in pressure indication due to freezing, which could lead to an automatic shutdown.
First, based on experience, it is necessary to control the drainage from air-cooled towers and the water supply to water-cooled towers. Second, someone needs to be on site to monitor the local flap valves~~
Once there was an abnormal fluctuation in water level; it was later found that the heating strip had not been turned off when the ambient temperature was high, resulting in excessive temperatures. Fortunately, it was detected in time. . . . .
These days, self-temperature-controlled heating cables are basically used~~
Keep the control valve at a setting close to its normal level; avoid making large adjustments. It’s still necessary to restore the liquid level indication as soon as possible – safety comes first.
