Our company has two dry gas desulfurization systems: one is a catalytic dry gas desulfurization tower, and the other is a coking dry gas desulfurization tower. Recently, the catalytic dry gas desulfurization tower has frequently experienced liquid entrainment (tower flooding), wherein the liquid level in the upper liquid collection tank rises rapidly, even carrying the amine solution into the subsequent amine recovery unit. The specific operating conditions are as follows: the system pressure is 0.87 Mpa; the pressure difference between the top and bottom of the tower is around -3 Kpa when normal, and around -10 Kpa when there is liquid present. The amount of dry gas stabilized by catalytic absorption is approximately 29,000 standard cubic meters, showing relative stability. The temperature of the dry gas entering the desulfurization tower is 33°C, and the temperature at the bottom of the desulfurization tower is 44°C, which is also relatively stable. The circulation volume of the amine solution is 45 tons. The concentration of the amine solution is around 30%. The amine solution used in the coking dry gas desulfurization tower and that used in the catalytic dry gas desulfurization tower both come from the same buffer tank, whereas this has never happened in the coking dry gas desulfurization tower. In most cases of tower flooding, it is due to the trays being clogged with impurities; it is recommended to improve filtration in the solvent system and to wash the trays in the catalytic dry gas stream.
Enhance filtration; an antifoaming agent can also be added
Is there a problem with the catalytic dry gas feed? Is there a liquid separation tank in place to enhance liquid removal and prevent heavy hydrocarbons from entering the trays and causing foaming?; Try to open the valve of the internal tank at the top of the tower to connect it with the pipeline at the bottom of the tower ; You can try increasing the pressure to reduce the gas velocity.
A liquid separation tank is installed in front of the desulfurization tower, and this tank is basically free of liquid.
