Thanks for answering the question. I understand the liquid seal tank under the fourth plate, but how does the overflow inner weir of the fifth plate seal the downcomer to prevent the gas phase from escaping from the downcomer without passing through the mass transfer element on the tray?
To put it simply, the resistance of the gas phase to overcome the liquid layer + dry plate on the plate is smaller than the resistance of the gas phase to overcome the liquid seal of the downflow system.
I don’t understand the function of the vertical board on the left side of the 5th floor. Now that there is a tower wall, what is the purpose of having a vertical board?
