One of Zhengyuan Group’s key intellectual properties, namely the “Multi-stage adiabatic indirect heat exchange energy-saving ammonia synthesis tower” (patent number: ZL201020145562.2), received the Silver Award at the 20th China Patent Awards – representing the highest honor ever awarded in this field within China’s nitrogen fertilizer industry. “The “China Patent Award” is the only **governmental award in China dedicated to recognizing inventions and creations for which patent rights have been granted. It is recognized by the United Nations World Intellectual Property Organization and holds considerable influence internationally. The China Patent Award aims to encourage and recognize patent holders and inventors who have made outstanding contributions to technological innovation and economic and social development. The evaluation criteria not only emphasize the level of patent technology and the degree of innovation in a project, but also take into account its application in the market transformation process. Zhengyuan Group’s technology for an \"energy-saving ammonia synthesis tower with multi-stage insulated indirect heat exchange\" was applied for a Chinese patent in March 2010, and the patent was granted in April 2011. Currently, this technology is widely used in the design, manufacture, and application of Zhengyuan JR ammonia synthesis towers, such as the Cangzhou Zhengyuan DN3000 ammonia synthesis tower, the Fengxi Quanji DN2600 ammonia synthesis tower, and the Baipo Zhengyuan DN2400 ammonia synthesis tower. Compared with similar technologies, this patent has the following advantages: 1. It follows the optimal reaction temperature curve, resulting in a high ammonia yield and excellent energy-saving effects ; 2. Solved the sealing problem of the top cover of the outer cylinder of large-diameter ammonia synthesis towers ; 3. Effectively solved the problem of fluid resistance inside the components ; 4. The installation, maintenance, and replacement of the heat exchanger are more convenient ; 5. Full consideration was given to the potential damage to the internal components caused by thermal stress during operation ; 6. The internal components are easy to assemble and maintain.
