On the determination of the overhead distillate from Column 1 in extractive distillation

May I ask, in extractive distillation, for tower 1, the extractive distillation tower, how is it determined what the overhead distillate is? Is it by comparing the boiling points of the two substances, with the one with the lower boiling point being distilled off?； It still depends on the force of interaction between the extractant and the two substances; those with a stronger force of interaction together with the extractant move toward the bottom of the tower, while the remaining one is distilled out from the top of the tower? ? ? ?
I think the heavy phase goes to the bottom while the light phase goes to the top
Fundamentally, the heavy phase is at the bottom and the light phase is at the top. If the extractant is the heavy phase, the extract will be at the bottom. Extraction is based on solubility
