Is it necessary to use stainless steel for the corrosion inhibitor injection line at the top of the tower?
We used ordinary carbon steel pipes before, and they suffered severe corrosion after being in use for a long time. Since the pipelines leading to the top of the tower are quite long, we want to replace them with stainless steel ones

Well, generally, pipelines with small diameters and long travel distances are prone to clogging, which is quite troublesome. Switching to stainless steel requires a larger investment, but it saves trouble in the long run
Using carbon steel all the time is fine; what’s a concern is intermittent injection, as it can lead to more severe corrosion
If inspection and maintenance are inconvenient, it’s better to switch to stainless steel!
All new projects or technical renovation projects these days use stainless steel
Carbon steel is sufficient for corrosion inhibitors pipelines; for towers, it is recommended to use 2205 stainless steel, as corrosion at the top of atmospheric pressure towers is quite severe
