Does anyone know what the purpose of such a set of valves at the top of the distillation tower is?
There is no mark on this chart to indicate the direction of short selling, which is substandard.
There are double safety valves on the top of the tower, FLG means flare discharge. Generally, the safety valve is not arranged at the top of the tower. It is located high and is inconvenient to operate and maintain. It can be placed at the entrance of the condenser, which is relatively convenient.
What kind of device is "FLG" in the picture? The intersection points of the associated lines should be separate, right? If so, it should be an overpressure material discharge recovery device, and a recovery equipment process that is greater than atmospheric pressure and less than the pressure inside the container. Therefore, it is necessary to install stop valves (for maintenance) before and after the safety valve and a pressure relief valve between valves for reference.
Triangular safety valve, the others are matching valves in front of the valve and behind the valve.
The safety valve at the top of the tower is open and ready. The back of the safety valve goes to the flare (FLG). The CSO (lead seal open) and CSC (lead seal close) signs are missing in the picture.
This is a safety valve, which protects the tower and prevents overpressure.
