Is there any relationship between the specific surface area of structured packing and the number of tray levels? For example, for 500Y, how many boards are needed to reach a height of one meter? And for 600Y and 800Y, how many boards are required? Thank you
It should be included in this product standard. You can look up the relevant standards. Or consult the relevant manufacturers.
Basically, the number of theoretical plates for the packing still needs to be determined based on the specific system and operating load. Generally speaking, 500Y is equivalent to 3–5 plates per meter; for 600Y and 800Y, specific parameters aren’t available, but it’s likely that the number of plates will be higher than that of 500Y, around 4–6 plates per meter
1 meter of structured packing is equivalent to 2 to 3 theoretical plates.
I don’t think 250Y, 500Y, 600Y, 800Y can be calculated in that way; the larger the specific surface area, the more plates there should be
