Applications of vacuum pumps in fine chemical industry: crystallization, distillation, extraction, sublimation, drying, deodorization, degassing, crystallization and vaporization, polymerization, vacuum evaporation, negative pressure filtration, monomer recovery, adsorption and desorption, material transfer, etc. Applications of vacuum pumps: gas transfer, gas compression, vacuum filtration/filtration under pressure, vacuum distillation, vacuum drying, crystallization, absorption, reactors, etc. Refining: Crude oil tower vacuum systems – atmospheric and vacuum distillation, solvent dewaxing, other vacuum distillation towers, and flare gas energy recovery. Crude oil tower vacuum system: Typically, a stage of steam jet pumps is installed in front of a large liquid ring vacuum pump, with two parallel liquid ring compressors placed after the vacuum pump. The gas coming out of the compressor enters the H2S degasser (for ammonia-related reactions), and then goes into the heater to be burned as fuel. Solvent dewaxing: The solvent dewaxing process involves cooling the wax oil to cause it to solidify into wax, followed by filtration and cleaning with a solvent. Maintaining a vacuum in the vacuum drum filter makes it possible for the wax oil to flow through the filter screen at a high rate under external pressure. Nitrogen is usually introduced as a protective gas into the filter and removed from it. The oil and nitrogen are filtered into the receiver, where the oil is separated; the nitrogen passes through a drum and into the vacuum pump. The dewaxing cycle is repeated in this manner. Other vacuum distillation towers – vacuum pumps combined with steam jet pumps. Yantai Wolm provides a hybrid vacuum system consisting of vacuum pumps and steam jet pumps for the vacuum systems of crude oil distillation towers; however, this does not mean that this technology can only be used in such applications. In the past, many vacuum systems used steam ejector pumps; replacing them with mixed vacuum systems is a good option, as it leads to energy savings. Energy recovery of vent gases: The non-condensable gases coming out of the crude oil vacuum tower have value as fuel and for lighting purposes. It also meets environmental protection requirements. Liquid ring compressors have a good and reliable track record of performance in this regard; moisture in steam and solvent vapors pose no harm to them, and they allow the transport of particles. Advantages: Similar energy consumption, stable operation. Applications of water ring vacuum pumps – Compression of explosive gases. As a typical compression device for explosive and hazardous gases, the compressor system enables acetylene to be cooled and immersed in a sealing fluid – water. Explosion tests were deliberately conducted on both the sides connected before and after the liquid ring compressor, and the tests showed that this type of compressor can effectively serve as a flame extinguishing device. Features: isothermal compression, explosion-proof.
