Author/Source: Donghua Technology ECEC Date: 2020-06-23 Views: 20 At 10:58 a.m. on June 21, the core equipment of the project – the nitric acid reduction tower – part of the comprehensive exhaust gas treatment facility designed to produce 300,000 tons per year of ethylene glycol along with LNG, operated by Shanxi Meijin Huasheng Chemical New Materials Co., Ltd. and supervised by Donghua Technology, was successfully installed. The successful lifting of this first large-scale piece of equipment marked the official start of the process of lifting such equipment for this project. The nitric acid reduction tower has a height of 29.8 meters and a diameter of 3.8 meters; its total lifting weight is 96 tons. It is one of the key equipment used in the synthesis of dimethyl oxalate. This device utilizes Ube Industries Ltd.’s latest nitric acid reduction technology, which can significantly reduce the nitric acid content in methanol aqueous solutions, as well as the amount of alkali used and the volume of waste water generated in subsequent systems. It is being used for the first time in a turnkey project undertaken by Donghua Technology. During the manufacturing of nitric acid reduction towers, Donghua Technology exercised strict control over the manufacturer’s quality practices and the actual quality of the products, regularly checking the progress of production plans to ensure that the equipment was delivered on time and passed the on-site joint inspection successfully.
