A more accurate approach is to take samples of these clean substances for analysis to determine what they are, and then use the analysis results to decide on the appropriate cleaning method; moreover, the liquid used to dissolve these substances must not be corrosive to the tower trays themselves. If possible, carry out physical cleaning first, and then use chemical agents. There are also environmental issues resulting from emissions, as well as problems related to the implementation of safe operations. There is no specific solution; just some ideas for reference only.
Our plant uses a single-tower pressurized side-line ammonia extraction process for the acid water stripping, with fouling on the tray plates mainly occurring in the area where the ammonia is extracted via the side line.
The facilities necessary for conducting such analytical tests on this substance are not available; our factory’s laboratory is also unable to carry out such tests
Scum, oil residues, various impurities... Don’t you have an acidic water intermediate tank for sedimentation? Sewage at the bottom, oil removal at the top.
Then use dilute hydrochloric acid that is feasible to obtain, and take a piece to see if it can dissolve. Only a small amount can be soaked to give it a try. Additionally, could one consider using an oxy-acetylene torch for grilling or tapping to try and fix it? I’m not sure whether this tray can be cleaned using a sandblasting (bead) machine; just for reference.
Sewage at the bottom, oil removal at the top. All these measures are in place, including sedimentation tanks; however, as the upstream equipment becomes more powerful, the sedimentation time in the sedimentation tanks is no longer sufficient.
A high-pressure water gun can clean it almost completely
Oh, it would be great if there’s a way. These substances may be salts in water; analysis is required to determine this.
Here, the material is mainly sludge, and the operating temperature is not high; however, this can easily lead to clogging of the trays, thereby affecting the efficiency of the tower.
