Please explain this type of bottom structure

As shown in the diagram, there are two overflow towers; at the bottom of each tower is a liquid collection tank. The liquid from this tank is drawn off and sent to the reboiler at the bottom of the tower, from where it returns to the upper part of the collection tank. The liquid phase is then drawn off from the bottom of the tower and sent to subsequent processes. I would like to ask the experts: how does the liquid phase in the collection tank, as well as the feed liquid phase, reach the bottom of the tower?
The liquid feed is pumped into the top feed inlet of the tower, while the liquid collection tank is used to draw out the liquid phase with high concentration at the bottom of the tower, which corresponds to the bottom discharge outlet; feeding does not occur from the liquid collection tank.
