Dear sea friends: Since the secondary desulfurization process uses an alkaline desulfurization method, the amount of hydrogen sulfide entering the system is around 1 g, while the required level at the outlet is below 20 mg. There are two desulfurization towers connected in parallel, each with a diameter of 7.6 meters; the total gas flow rate is 160,000 Nm3/h, and the circulation volume of the desulfurization liquid per tower is 1,200 m3/h. It is not possible to ensure that the hydrogen sulfide level after the towers meets the specified standards during operation. To ensure compliance with the standards, we now plan to increase the circulation rate per tower to 2000–2300 m3/h; the related regeneration systems and pipelines can be modified accordingly. But how should the liquid distributors and redistributors inside the desulfurization tower be modified? The liquid redistributor is a gravity-based distributor; in this case, the liquid is allowed to flow over the tray through small holes with a diameter of 20 mm located in the chamber’s interlayer, and then it is distributed via nozzles with a diameter of 50 mm. During maintenance, this distributor becomes severely clogged, as the entire interlayer is filled with accumulated sulfur paste. Please provide guidance or relevant standards. Thank you!
I just need to find out which manufacturer made the distributor originally, and then have them do the calculation again
Shouldn’t hydrogen sulfide removal be done using ammonia solution? Isn’t the alkaline solution used for desulfurization of alcohols?
This post was last edited by juniger on 2018-11-25 08:58. Your gas-liquid ratio of 15 L/Nm^3 is quite high! It’s so clogged up here – are you using a centrifugal pump? The traffic will be much lower, right? So it’s not a problem with the liquid-to-gas ratio. The best way for you to address the issue now is as follows: 1. Solve the problem of congestion ; 2. Adjust pH ; 3. Pay attention to the inlet gas temperature.
