The liquid level in the diesel distillation column during hydrorefining fluctuates frequently, ranging from 30% to 60%, with repeated changes. Every time there is a fluctuation, raising the bottom temperature improves the situation. We have another set of diesel equipment; the same issue occurred with the distillation tower before. Please help analyze the reasons.
Fluctuations in the liquid level of the diesel distillation tower can be caused by various factors, including but not limited to the following: 1. Changes in raw material composition: Variations in the composition and flow rate of the raw materials can disrupt the dynamic equilibrium of the distillation process, thereby leading to fluctuations in the liquid level. 2. Furnace operation status: Unstable heat input to the furnace or a decline in furnace performance can affect the temperature at the bottom of the distillation tower, thereby causing fluctuations in the liquid level. 3. Adjustment of operating parameters: If the operating parameters of the distillation column (such as the reflux ratio and top pressure) are not adjusted properly or change frequently, it may lead to fluctuations in liquid level. 4. Instrument and control system issues: Malfunctions of the level gauge or instability in the control system can both lead to fluctuations in the level display as well as in actual control. 5. Blockage of internal flow channels: Blockages in the packing or trays inside the distillation tower can affect the distribution of liquid and vapor, leading to fluctuations in liquid level. Each time the problem is alleviated by increasing the bottom temperature, it may be because the evaporation rate at the bottom increases, thereby improving the liquid-vapor equilibrium. It is recommended to carefully examine and analyze the above possible causes, and make corresponding adjustments and maintenance to reduce the occurrence of liquid level fluctuations. .
