Construction began on China’s second polyoxymethylene production facility in Tianjin. On May 28, work started on China’s second polyoxymethylene facility in the new plant area of Tianjin Alkali Factory, located in the Lingang Industrial Zone of Tianjin Binhai New Area. This is also another chemical engineering project undertaken by Sinopec Fourth Construction Company, the company responsible for building this facility, following its successful completion of the installation of Shanghai Lanxing Company’s first domestic polyoxymethylene production plant. It is understood that as a supporting project for the Tianjin Alkali Plant, it represents China’s second polyoxymethylene production facility with an annual output of 40,000 tons. It is located in the Lingang Industrial Zone within the Tianjin Binhai New Area. The investment amount for this project was 1 billion RMB, while the value of the construction contract was 35 million RMB; the completion date for the mechanical installation was August 30, 2009. It is reported that Sinopec Fourth Construction Company, the entity responsible for the construction of this project, aimed to carry out the work to the best of its ability. To establish a good reputation as a Sinopec construction company in Tianjin Binhai New Area, it mobilized its most skilled workers, formed a project team, developed detailed technical plans, established quality and safety systems, and set a goal of achieving 100% project completion rate on the first attempt.
