A new materials R&D center was inaugurated! On May 21, 2024, the Engineering Plastics R&D Center of Yuntianhua Co., Ltd. held an inauguration ceremony, marking a new stage in the development of chemical new materials such as polyoxymethylene; this event holds significant significance as it advances the progress of engineering materials at Yuntianhua. Yuntianhua Co., Ltd.’s Engineering Plastics R&D Center is an institution dedicated to the research and development as well as innovation of engineering plastics. It collaborates with universities and research institutions to conduct in-depth studies in areas such as the development of polyoxymethylene, talent training, cost reduction and efficiency improvement, and the extension of the polyoxymethylene industry chain, thereby promoting the sustainable development of the engineering plastics industry.
In 1999, Yunnan Yuntianhua Co., Ltd. introduced European technology and became the first manufacturer of high-quality copolymerized formaldehyde resin in China. In 2001, China’s first 10,000-ton per year polyoxymethylene production line was put into operation at the Shuifu facility, filling a gap in the country’s manufacturing capacity. In 2010, the 60,000-ton polyoxymethylene production facility at Yuntianhua’s Chongqing plant was fully built and put into operation, raising the total production capacity to 90,000 tons. On May 20, Yuntianhua stated on the investor interaction platform that the company’s current production capacity for polyoxymethylene is 90,000 tons per year, accounting for around 25% of the domestic production volume. At present, Yuntianhua not only possesses the production technology for basic copolymerized formaldehyde products, but also has advanced capabilities for developing and producing customized products for customers ； Through independent research and development, the establishment of its own production lines, and the exploration of new application areas, the company has become the first in China to be capable of producing POM fiber products. It has thus created a new milestone for the development of this industry, and its efforts hold great significance for promoting the sustainable growth of China’s polyoxymethylene industry.
