New feelings upon returning to work

I was laid off the year before last and took a break of over a year; last month I started working again at a private company whose owner is someone I know. For a newly established company, it’s not possible to offer good benefits; the only thing that needs to be taken care of is social insurance, and retirement procedures can be handled next year. After being unemployed for over a year, my expectations are no longer high. The working environment after starting work is good; it’s a new office space with an area of 400 square meters, and there are 5-6 people there. The main members are acquaintances; a newly hired graduate student has been added. The working environment these days doesn’t require cutthroat competition. Sign a six-month contract first. It was agreed in advance that upon the expiration of the contract, retirement procedures would still be carried out, with the individual bearing the related costs.
Congratulations to the original poster on returning to the job market – it’s truly rare to find an environment free from excessive competition, especially since the atmosphere in companies where one knows people is usually more relaxed.

Advice from someone who’s been through it: if your body allows it, keep going as long as possible and don’t give up. That sense of helplessness and disappointment that comes from giving up is truly agonizing. If you have your own projects, that’s another matter; but following trends like traveling, going around, seeing things here and there…… is all nonsense. It’s enough to look at a few representative options; more luxurious leisure trips are beyond the reach of the working class,,, Only by continuing to thrive and shine can you demonstrate your value. You must have realized it after taking a year off.
The working environment is great; it’s very relaxing. The boss isn’t like the managers from before – there’s no more significant power disparity; it’s simply an employer-employee relationship
For newly established companies, with contracts covering only the first six months, there’s a risk that the work flow won’t be maintained, and they may not be able to afford it or support that many employees. If the company has many projects, then it might be possible to continue using it:D I don’t have any choice; I can only wait to be chosen:D
I’m in a more relaxed state of mind now; there’s no need to put on a performance or to work hard for fame or profit. I decided on my own salary, and the boss agreed right away, fearing that my request might be too high and unattainable. The current compensation is 60% of what it used to be :D
The new company currently has 3 technical staff members, including the owner; one master’s graduate has been hired. In addition to its previous business activities, the company is now expanding into new energy-saving projects. The owner and another colleague spend most of their time outside carrying out technical discussions, acting as a front line force, while I am responsible for executing the projects back at the office.
