Air leakage in the vacuum pump’s intake pipeline and connections – Identify the cause of the leakage or temporarily seal it using vacuum-sealing compound. 2. The temperature of the gas being drawn in is too high – Install a cooling device on the intake pipeline to lower the gas temperature. 3. Insufficient oil quantity or incorrect oil quality – Add more vacuum pump oil specifically designed for mechanical pumps. 4. The vacuum pump oil is contaminated – Replace it with fresh oil intended for use in vacuum pumps. 5. The temperature of the vacuum pump oil is too low – In cold seasons, low indoor temperatures can affect the oil’s temperature; the pump will function properly only after running for half an hour. 6. The exhaust valve of the vacuum pump is damaged and causing leakage – Replace it with a new exhaust valve. 7. The rubber gaskets at the connections in the vacuum pump’s intake pipeline are damaged – Replace them with new rubber seals. 8. The gas being drawn in contains condensable vapors – Use a gas trap or a vapor capture device. 9. Damaged components – Prolonged use leads to wear of components, increasing the gaps between them, which affects proper operation and vacuum levels; these components need to be repaired or replaced. 10. Incorrect vacuum gauge selection – A compression vacuum gauge should be used according to standards to measure partial pressure, or an electron vacuum gauge can be used as a reference for total pressure
I would like to ask the original poster about the precautions for using vacuum pumps in series; is it possible to use a Roots blower and a jet pump together in series?
