How does the JXMS metering pump work?
A metering pump is a type of reciprocating pump and belongs to the category of positive displacement pumps. Simply put, it’s like a syringe for injections; the amount of fluid delivered depends on the speed at which the fluid is drawn in and expelled (the number of reciprocations of the pump), the distance the plunger moves back and forth (the pump’s stroke), and the diameter of the plunger (the pump’s plunger diameter). If the outlet pressure is high, then you need to apply more force (the pump will require more power), but the discharge volume is not greatly affected. A metering pump achieves variable flow by adjusting one of its parameters; generally, metering pumps allow for adjustment of the stroke length, and by changing this length, the flow rate can be controlled. There are also many requests for variable-frequency motors, which adjust the flow rate by changing the number of reciprocations of the pump.
