Why should the pump outlet valve be closed when a centrifugal pump is shut down? Are there requirements only for high-power pumps? Can low-power pumps be turned on casually?
It is mainly to prevent backwater hammer from damaging the pipeline valves and the pump
It can be left open even with a check valve. . . If the check valve works well. . .
Anyway, it needs to be closed when the pump is started; the same is true for check valves. It needs to be turned on and off once in the morning and once in the evening
