Given the different principles of operation, and considering the greater wear tendency of piston pumps, can piston-diaphragm pumps completely replace piston pumps?
There should be pressure differences to determine the scope of application.

Plunger pumps have a simple structure, are easy to maintain, and are inexpensive. If a plunger pump can be used, there is no need for a diaphragm pump; therefore, a diaphragm pump cannot replace a plunger pump. Plunger pumps have the issue of the plunger coming into contact with the medium, resulting in minor leaks between the plunger and the packing; diaphragm pumps can overcome these drawbacks. When choosing a pump, it’s not necessary to go for the most expensive one; the right one is the best.
Thinking about this issue in such a way is wrong; the pressure and flow rates are all designed accordingly. There are many factors to consider when determining whether the modified equipment meets the production requirements, so this idea isn’t good.
