Gas tanks are always installed in front of the pumps, and generally, the pressure in these gas tanks is maintained at around 4 KPa using weights! It is highly beneficial for electrolysis systems, as it stabilizes the pressure behind the hydrogen control valve. Since there is no need to immediately release the hydrogen from the gas tank in the event of an emergency shutdown following the use of a complementary gas tank, it is possible to drain the gas tank by adding water through a water seal once stability is restored; thus, there is no sudden loss of pressure behind the valve or pressure fluctuations that occur during valve switching! Stable operation of the cell is ensured under both normal and abnormal conditions! Moreover, the buffering provided by the gas holder prevents the occurrence of hyperchlorination in the synthesis furnace due to the rapid loss of hydrogen pressure when the system stops suddenly! It is unfavorable for chlorohydrogen treatment; the pressure in the gas holder is generally around 4 KPa. To ensure that no negative pressure difference occurs in the electrolyzer during a system shutdown, the operating pressure of the chlorine treatment system (before it enters the washing tower) must be maintained at an appropriate level!
