For multi-stage centrifugal pumps with long pump shafts, it is recommended to use two dial indicators for axial monitoring, in order to prevent axial movement during alignment and avoid false readings. If both change simultaneously, it indicates axial play; if only one value changes, it might be due to alignment errors. This is just some experience shared for your reference.
