Dear friends, what is the purpose of installing a cross-connected valve at the outlet of the lock-hopper circulation pump?
What does \"cross-line\" refer to – the bypass of the check valve or something else? Could you explain it in more detail?
There is a 1-inch bypass on the check valve
Generally, the outlet check valve of a lock-hopper circulation pump does not have such a bypass wire, whereas the outlet check valve of a quench water pump does have one. This bypass wire is installed on the outlet check valve of the quench water pump because this pump is equipped with a self-start function; the standby pump needs to remain in a ready state, and it is through this bypass wire that the standby pump is kept in that ready state. As for whether a cross-line connection should be installed for the lock-hopper circulation pump or not, it’s not essential; after all, the medium handled by this pump can reach temperatures of over 100°C. This cross-line connection can be used to provide hot standby for the pump, allowing the backup pump to start up quickly. However, considering the functions of a lock-type circulation pump, it isn’t necessary for it to have a rapid start-up feature.
The gear pump operates at an operating temperature of around 70°C, with a designed maximum operating temperature of 105°C. A hot standby heating pump isn’t necessary; it might be useful as an anti-freezing heating pump, however.
Our factory does not have this setting; generally, in winter, the water in the standby pump is drained and the pump is covered with steam pipes to prevent freezing
It is indeed rare to find a lock-circulation pump with such a feature, but in colder regions like Inner Mongolia and Xinjiang, it becomes easier to understand why this feature is included
