Pump suction issue.

A main pipe runs out from the water intake well, and this main pipe feeds four IS single-pole single-suction pumps, of which two are in operation. When the liquid level in the suction well drops to the midpoint of the impeller, if one of the water pump seals starts leaking, will this cause a complete interruption of air intake and water supply in the entire system?

A water pump with check valves at both the inlet and outlet should work fine, as long as it’s not used for sewage.
