Single-acting slide valves (hydraulic) and double-acting slide valves (hydraulic) play a crucial role in catalytic units. Generally, each slide valve is equipped with two oil pumps; during normal operation, one pump is in use while the other is on standby (the operating pump is set to manual mode, while the standby pump is set to automatic start mode) to ensure the proper functioning of the slide valves. So, what are the reasons why the oil pump fails to start on its own?
①Inter-phase short circuit in stator windings, open circuit in stator windings, ground fault; ②Incorrect stator winding connection ; ③Overload or rotor obstruction ;
1. It may be caused by excessive vibration, water entering the junction box, loose terminals, etc. 2. Oil leakage in the oil system pipelines. 3. Clogged oil filter. 4. Oil leakage at the connection flanges. 5. Oil cooler leakage. 6. Caused by incorrect operation
This doesn’t seem to be the reason why the pump can’t start on its own; it looks more like the cause of the pump not delivering sufficient flow

1. Oil system pipeline leakage ; 2. Decrease in the efficiency of the main oil pump ; 3. Oil filter clogged ; 4. Fault in the pressure control valve.

Check whether the backup oil pump has triggered interlock.
We experienced a gradual drop in oil pressure some time ago; the oil pump would start up automatically to increase the pressure after about 10 minutes. I would like to ask the original poster: what is roughly the auto-start cycle time for the oil pump in the slide valve oil system of your installation?
