There is also a problem with what you said; metering pumps come in three types: piston-type, hydraulic diaphragm-type, and mechanical diaphragm-type. There is no piston-diaphragm type; it’s only the hydraulic diaphragm type, where the hydraulic chamber requires a piston rod to provide hydraulic power in order to move the diaphragm.
