For the newly designed pump, should the inlet flange be flat on top or on the bottom? Are there any specific requirements regarding this? Our factory’s design institute has designed a system, stating that the reducers at the inlets of all pumps need to be leveled to prevent gas accumulation. Is this statement correct? ?
Yes, a flat top can prevent gas accumulation.
Correctly, the orientation of the eccentric large and small ends should be such that no air pockets or liquid pockets form in the inlet section. The gas phase has a flat top, while the liquid phase has a flat bottom.
