Can the temperature inside the rotating and stationary rings of the mechanical seal reach 60 degrees during operation? While cleaning the seal water pipe recently, I found that the water supply to it had been cut off – there was a blockage inside the seal. I originally thought it was water evaporating inside the mechanical seal and causing scaling; perhaps the worse the water quality, the lower its boiling point, making scaling more likely.
There is no cooling in the stationary and rotating rings of the mechanical seal, and the pump’s cavitation temperature can reach 200°C, causing the sealing ring of the stationary ring to melt.
