For our equipment renovation, there is a pump with an inlet pressure of 6 MPa, an outlet pressure of 7 MPa, a flow rate of 20.9 m3/h, a head of 112 M, and an inlet temperature of -27.3 degrees Celsius; it is a low-temperature pump. Is it easy to select this pump? Will there be any problems during operation?
The inlet pressure is high; a 600# API610 pump of type OH2 is required. The temperature is below -20 degrees Celsius, so special attention must be paid to the material choice – austenitic stainless steel should be used, along with V-notch impact testing. Attention should also be given to the mechanical seal; given the low temperature, Plan62 or a dual-seal design should be selected depending on the properties of the material

For mechanical seals, if the inlet pressure is too high, a cantilever pump should be chosen, and axial force must be taken into consideration.
