Is it necessary to turn the screw pump shaft before starting it, and how does one do that?

Especially when there is liquid present, it is quite difficult to turn all positive-displacement pumps
It is possible to use desalinated water or other liquids with higher pressure for hydraulic turning, instead of manual turning; that’s what I do here – I only use pipe wrenches for turning when something gets stuck, as it’s impossible to turn it by hand under normal circumstances.

Cranking is required. Before starting the turntable, check the lubricant to ensure proper lubrication of the equipment. For high-power screw pumps, it is necessary to remove the coupling guard and use a tool to turn the pump; for smaller pumps, the blades of the motor’s cooling fan can be used to turn them gently.
The screw pump must be flushed with water when started or stopped; turning it manually is very difficult, but it is easier to do so using pipe wrenches.
