The feed pump requires a steady supply of material, and for this reason piston pumps or diaphragm pumps are not suitable. High-speed pumps or rotary shell pumps are recommended

Since it is a plunger pump, using it as a hydrogenation feed pump makes leak handling rather troublesome, so only methods similar to Hammelmann’s can be employed.
