The original poster has already stated that they use hot oil pumps, and the fluid used in these pumps is generally quite dense; is it then necessary to use a fluid that is even denser as an isolation liquid? Pump evacuation is caused by an excessive amount of isolation fluid, which enters the heavy oil system as flushing oil; vaporization then leads to evacuation! In daily operations, oil sealing with water can also occur, it’s just that the media are different!

The mechanical seal you are using likely adopts the PLAN32 design; the flushing fluid is a clean, lightweight liquid that provides effective cleaning, lubrication, and cooling for the friction surfaces of the mechanical seal. It also has a certain diluting effect on the medium inside the pump. If too much flushing fluid is used, it can cause significant differences in the composition of the medium within the pump. Due to the high temperatures inside the pump, this medium may vaporize instantly, resulting in vacuum formation within the pump!
