As the title suggests, this pump operates on the same principle as diaphragm pumps used for pumping liquids, but it effectively solves the problem of transferring powders in the field. I tried using a bucket inversion machine before, but HSE said it was unsafe. It’s switched back to vacuum feeding, which is costly and inefficient. This powder pump is great; it can be placed on a trolley and pushed wherever needed????
This is widely used in industry, right? Diaphragm pumps!
It’s just a diaphragm pump; powder transfer in pharmaceutical factories should be done by pneumatic conveying. This of yours doesn’t count as powder conveying.
Isn’t it better to use a Roots blower for pneumatic conveying?
It requires a dust collector and a rotary valve; a Roots blower cannot be used for direct suction
It seems to be a pneumatic diaphragm pump; the requirements for powdered media are likely quite high
